Abdullah Al Salem University, represented by the Public Relations and Communications Department, organized a breast cancer awareness event under the slogan “A Life of Awareness… Your Awareness Makes a Difference.” The event was attended by the Acting Vice President for Planning, Institutional Excellence, and Innovation, Professor Fawaz Al-Anzi, on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the University’s Khaldiya campus.

The event witnessed strong attendance from students across the University’s various colleges. It was organized as part of Abdullah Al Salem University’s commitment to promoting health awareness, encouraging early breast cancer screening, and supporting healthy lifestyle choices among women. It also aimed to highlight healthy habits and their role in improving quality of life, reducing the risk of disease, and supporting breast cancer prevention.

As part of the event, the PINK CODE 2026 competition was held, organized by the Planning, Institutional Excellence, and Innovation Sector under the theme “Innovation Challenge in Artificial Intelligence and Healthcare.”

The competition was supervised by Dr. Mona Al-Rashid from Abdullah Al Salem University’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences; Dr. Bashar Al-Hashash and Dr. Hassan Aziz from New Care Clinic; Ms. Altaf Al-Essa, a psychotherapist at the Sidra Association – Shaikha Badria Al-Sabah Hospital; and Mr. Sulaiman Al-Farsi from SuliTech.

The competition aimed to leverage artificial intelligence tools to develop innovative solutions to healthcare challenges through a hands-on experience that involved identifying problems, generating ideas, developing prototypes, and presenting and evaluating them.

Notable participants in the awareness event included the Ministry of Health, the national cancer awareness campaign “KAN,” the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, and the Sidra Association for Psychological Care for Cancer Patients. The participating organizations provided valuable information highlighting the importance of early detection and regular screening. The event also offered students an opportunity to engage directly with the participating organizations, ask questions, and benefit from the information and guidance provided. The involvement of government entities, private-sector organizations, and civil society institutions underscored the importance of coordinated efforts in promoting health awareness.
