Abdullah Al Salem University has organized the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) exam for applicants to the College of Medicine and Health Sciences for the academic year 2026/2027, in partnership with King’s College London. A team from the college supervised the exam remotely via video conferencing technology, as part of the college’s approved admission procedures. This step reflects the university’s commitment to selecting students according to the highest international academic and professional standards.

The organization of this exam coincides with the inauguration of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the university, making it the second public university in Kuwait to offer this specialization. This enhances its contribution to preparing qualified national medical and health cadres capable of meeting the needs of the country’s healthcare sector.

The MMI exam is one of the latest assessment methods adopted by leading medical schools worldwide. It measures a range of essential skills and competencies among applicants, including critical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to handle ethical and professional situations. This ensures the selection of students most prepared to study medicine and engage in the healthcare field.

On this occasion, the President of Abdullah Al Salem University, Professor Mona Suleiman Al-Ahmad, stated: “The inauguration of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences represents a qualitative achievement that strengthens the university’s mission to prepare distinguished national competencies in the medical and health fields. Meanwhile, Acting Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Professor Adel Khader Ayed, explained that adopting the MMI exam aligns with international standards followed in prestigious medical schools. He emphasized that the exam allows for a fair and comprehensive evaluation of students, extending beyond academic achievement to assess the human and behavioral skills required for the profession. He added: “Our partnership with King’s College London adds significant value by enhancing the quality of the admission process and ensuring its alignment with the highest global practices in medical education, ultimately serving the preparation of a generation of qualified doctors to serve the nation.
