Law No. (12) of 2020 provides the right to view information and the right to obtain it, to establish the principle of transparency and integrity in administrative and economic transactions, as well as to enhance confidence in decisions of government agencies covered by it. In accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned law, Abdullah Al Salem University (AASU) has launched the information access service.

If the application is granted the right to view the documents only, an appointment will be scheduled for the applicant to visit AASU to view the documents at no charge. However, if the application includes a request to obtain documents, the legally prescribed fees will be applied in accordance with Article (4) of the executive regulations issued by Ministerial Resolution No. (62) of 2021. The fees are as follows:
In case the application to access information was explicitly or implicitly rejected within the period specified by law, the applicant may file an appeal with Abdullah Al Salem University (AASU) in writing within (60) days from the date of becoming aware of the rejection or from the expiry date of the period specified by law to examine the application without a response. The appeal will be responded to within (60) days from the date of its submission.
