Gratitude and Appreciation

On this day, four years ago, my colleagues and I, members of the Founding Administrative Board of Abdullah Al Salem University, had the honor of being entrusted by the country’s political leadership with a great responsibility – the establishment of Kuwait’s second public university, Abdullah Al Salem University. The university carries a name dear to the hearts of all Kuwaitis and stands as a lasting symbol of Kuwait’s educational renaissance. From the very beginning, we felt both the honor of this trust and the weight of the responsibility, guided by a sincere desire to build a pioneering academic institution that reflects Kuwait’s aspirations and ambitions for the future.

We recognize that we live in a time that allows no delay and accepts no conventional or routine approaches in education and work. It is an era defined by innovation and the pursuit of initiative. Such was our approach as a team; although some members took on other responsibilities, the work continued with fewer members and greater determination. Responsibilities multiplied, yet the pace of progress accelerated, continuing day and night without interruption. By the grace of Allah, the prayers of the people of Kuwait, and the sincere and diligent efforts of the university’s Founding Board members and all those who supported them, we witnessed the rise of this institution. We reaped the fruits of our vision with the commencement of operations of this young university in record time. Now, after four years of the Founding Board’s term as defined by law, the university stands complete: its student body has grown, its academic programs have diversified, research has been published, networks and cooperation agreements have flourished, and its achievements have multiplied across all areas of academic and administrative work. All credit, after Allah Almighty, goes to the collective efforts of faculty members, instructors, researchers, staff, and administrative leaders, who take pride in this distinguished accomplishment.

At the conclusion of this founding phase, it is a duty to extend my gratitude to all those who supported, assisted, worked, participated, collaborated, and contributed to documenting this journey. At the forefront — and deserving of our deepest thanks — are His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait and His Highness the Crown Prince, may Allah protect and preserve them both, for their trust and continuous support for their sons and daughters. My gratitude also extends to the esteemed Government of Kuwait, to the Ministers responsible for higher education and their colleagues across all ministries and state agencies, to my fellow Board members, to every member of the university family in all its sectors and categories, to our dear students and their parents who trusted us and represented the university honorably, and to all media outlets, private sector organizations, and public service institutions. Were it not for this spirit of collective effort and true teamwork, the achievements we take pride in today would not have been possible. We are proud of our university, and we look forward to its continued progress, development, and distinction — both locally and globally.

May Allah protect Kuwait and grant it enduring progress, honor, and prosperity.

Allah is the source of all success.
