Background

Abdullah Al Salem University (AASU) is a newly established government-funded university in Kuwait where the language of instruction is English.

AASU is seeking to hire talented full-time instructors to join the dynamic and fast-expanding team and contribute to the continued development of Abdullah Al Salem University as a world-class provision that attracts high-quality students and provides them with an excellent educational experience. The university is accepting applications for these positions for the Fall and Spring of 2026/2027.

Expectations, Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Instructors at the college will be responsible for:

• Teaching courses/ labs as assigned and as necessary.
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs.
• Developing and reviewing all aspects related to the academic courses in such a manner that meets all standards of standardized curriculum, is relevant to student needs, and is linked to the mission and vision of AASU.
• Working collaboratively with the Program head and course coordinator of the program to ensure the implementation of the strategic plan and monitor the progress toward these academic goals.
• Participating in regular staff and faculty meetings.
• Preparing reports as well as annual accreditation reports.
• Preparing data on student advancement and feedback, student progress and program fit.
• Supervising the placement, testing, and evaluation of all students.
• Identifying needed supplies, textbooks, and materials for the classes.
• Performing other duties as necessary or assigned.
• Participating in the assessment and placement of incoming students.
• Participating in professional development.
• Participating in activities required to maintain program and college accreditation standards.
• Learning and applying technologies that support student learning. 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related fields with a GPA of very good or equivalent.
• Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or any related field with a GPA of very good or equivalent; also, a doctoral degree in one of these fields is preferred.
• The candidate should demonstrate specialization in the program through a master’s thesis concentration, or relevant taught courses in the master’s program, or recognized professional certifications aligned with the program applied for.
• All applicants' degrees must be listed in the National Bureau for Academic Accreditation and Education Quality Assurance (NABAQ).
• Degrees from the top 150 universities, according to US News, QS, or Times Higher Education, in one of the fields mentioned above are preferred.
• At a minimum, one academic year (2 semesters) of recent teaching experience in Computer Engineering topics in an educational institution with demonstrable excellence in teaching.
• An IELTS score of 6.0 or its equivalent (International TOEFL-IBT score of 60/120) is required. However, native English speakers are exempt from this requirement.
• Strong knowledge of current trends, technologies, and practices in computer science and engineering.
• Strong organizational skills with an exceptionally responsive and detail-oriented personality.
• Ability to be an effective team builder, work both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• High level of professionalism and positive attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure and overtime when needed and adapt to changing priorities and environment, as well as a willingness to continue learning.
• Ability to lead in a multicultural and educational environment.
• Presenting a 15-minute demo lesson on a specific topic.

1. Updated curriculum vitae.
2. Scanned copies of all degrees and transcripts.
3. Equivalency certificates from the Ministry of Higher Education in Kuwait for bachelor’s and master’s degrees obtained from a university other than Kuwait University.
4. Copy of an official IELTS or TOEFL results not older than two years from the announcement date.
5. Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including the student evaluation records (at least the evaluation of two different courses).
6. Experience letters or certificates.
7. Copies of training experience certificates (for long-term or short-term training programs).
8. Names/affiliation and contact details of at least two professional referees.  

Authenticated copies of all degrees must be provided by shortlisted applicants.
