UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS

Academic Year 2024/2025

AASU is looking for talented students who have the ambition and perseverance to provide solutions to current and future challenges of Kuwait.

Students who have obtained their high school/secondary certificate in 2023 or 2024 are encouraged to apply for admission in AASU's unique and progressive undergraduate degree programs. Applications must be submitted in accordance with the specified timeline.

Applications Timeline

Between Friday, 05 July 2024 and Friday, 12 July 2024, applications can be submitted online by:

  • Kuwaiti Nationals
  • Children of Kuwaiti Mothers

Between Tuesday, 16 July 2024 and Thursday, 18 July 2024, applications can be submitted by students who may belong to the following categories, but are neither Kuwaiti citizens nor children of Kuwaiti mothers:  

  • Citizens of GCC Countries 
  • Illegal Residents 
  • Children of Martyrs 
  • Spouses of Kuwaiti Nationals 
  • Children and Spouses of Diplomats 
  • Children and Spouses of University Staff 
  • Outstanding Students (Grade more than 95% in Unified System)
     

Between Monday, 22 July 2024 and Thursday, 25 July 2024, applications can be submitted by students wish to study on self-finance basis but are neither Kuwaiti citizens nor children of Kuwaiti mothers.

Admissions Criteria

College of Business & Entrepreneurship

  • Final overall grade in high school (secondary school) should not be less than 80% for science graduates and 85% for arts graduates.
  • Admission will be prioritized based on higher comparative percentages calculated as following:

    70% of high school grade
    + 15% of the score in the English exam
    + 15% of the score in Mathematics exam

College of Computing & Systems / College of Engineering & Energy

  • Final overall grade in high school (secondary school) should not be less than 80% for science graduates.
  • Admission will be prioritized based on higher comparative percentages calculated as following:

    65% of high school grade
    + 15% of the score in the English exam
    + 20% of the score in Mathematics exam

Categories of Applicants 

Admissions are open to students who are Kuwaiti nationals as well as those who do not hold Kuwaiti citizenship. Details are as follows.

First Category: Kuwaiti Nationals & Children of Kuwaiti Mothers

This category includes all students who hold a valid nationality certificate of Kuwait as well those whose do not hold the nationality themselves, but their mothers hold a valid Kuwaiti nationality.

Second Category: Non-Kuwaiti Applicants

Students in this category must have completed all stages of their high school studies while enrolled in Kuwait's Unified System. Children and spouses of diplomats and AASU employees are exempted from this condition. Expat students who wish to study at AASU on self-finance basis are also exempted from this condition. The category includes the following:

  • Nominees of His Excellency Minister of Higher Education 
  • Outstanding students 
  • Spouses of Kuwaiti nationals 
  • GCC nationals 
  • Children of martyrs
  • Children and spouses of diplomats 
  • Children and spouses of AASU faculty members
  • Children and spouses of AASU staff
  • Illegal residents whose mothers are not Kuwaiti nationals 
  • Expat resident and non-resident students on self-finance basis
